Carmen Smith
As program manager for Sport Compact Drag Racing & Drifting, Carmen works with the Chevy and Pontiac teams to make sure the racing program is representing their brands appropriately and making a positive addition to their marketing efforts. She especially likes working with GM’s sponsored race teams, doing her best to help them get what they need. And, of course, she has the privilege of meeting fans and enthusiasts and talking to them about our great Chevy and Pontiac cars, Hydra-matic transmissions, and ECOtec-engines.
Carmen’s background is in both engineering and marketing, which is why she was a good match for this role. While admittedly no engine expert, she finds what GM does on the engine side very interesting and is proud to be involved with it. She feels lucky to work with an exceptional collection of talented people. We have the best engineers, engine builders, and fabricators and she is constantly learning new things. She doesn’t think she could find a more interesting job than this one.
