Carmen Smith on GM Racing's Sport-Compact Program

Since 2004, Smith has been program manager for sport-compact drag racing/drifting at GM where she has shepherded the day-to-day marketing, engineering and administrative activities of one of the most successful programs in the sport. GM turns up the heat at NDRA Phoenix
The second event of the season - NDRA Phoenix. It approached 100 degrees in Phoenix, a shock to those of us who flew out of snowy conditions in the Midwest and Northeast.
In fact, Don Nase Jr., driver of the ECOtec-powered dragster, almost didn't make it at all. He faced canceled flights and a sleepless night spent at JFK airport just to make it to Firebird Raceway in time for the final qualifying round on Saturday. Are You Ready to Race?
That's an easy question for GM to answer. That would be a very big YES!!! GM loves to race! That has been very evident in the past few years with their involvement in Sport Compact drag racing. This year is going to be an exciting year for GM Racing and their star-powered teams.

Getting everything right at NDRA Dallas
NDRA Dallas! The first event of the season is always exciting. And a little nerve racking. Marty Ladwig brought out his brand-new, never-been-run Chevy Cobalt Pro Outlaw FWD car.
This weekend, both he and Jason Hunt are running a new F.A.S.T. XFI controller, wiring harness, and Enginuity shift controller. We started on Marty's car Friday evening and struggled to get it to run right. read more...
