Welcome to GM Tuner Source

Welcome to the newly improved GM Tuner Source web site. Many of you who are regular visitors will notice not only its exciting new look, but also a host of new features that we're pretty excited about.

We think you will be, too.

First and foremost is this blog. We’ll be updating it regularly to keep you in the loop with news and photos from tuner events around the country, including updates about the GM teams competing in drag racing and drifting events. And we want you to chime in with your own comments about what you see and hear at the events you attend.

In fact, the whole idea of the new site is to allow tuner enthusiasts like you to interact with us and with one another. We’ll be reading your comments and using them for ideas for things we should be writing about in the blog. And we'll be using flickr as a host for galleries of pictures our drivers and staffers take at the events we attend.

Of course we’re carrying over a lot of the same things you enjoyed on the old site. Features like our driver profiles, events schedule, accessories pages and build books are still here; they’re just presented in a format that’s easier to navigate.

The bottom line is that the new site is as much about you as it is about us. Your participation is what will make this the exciting site we envision.

So take a look around and let us know what you think. Meanwhile, keep checking in, because, as the racing season revs up, we’ve got lots more in store.

Congrats

tunersource change

nice set up but ive noticed you dont support the ion redline in ur accessories link anymore. and i have a question of the stage kits. will the GM stage kit 3 be the last one for the LSJ or will there be a stage 4? because losing your warrenty over a GMPP product isnt very satisfying. and it turns away potential buyers

Tuner source info about GMPP products?

Posted by Halfcent at March 30, 2007 09:27
Since the launch of the Delta platform cars, GMPP hasn't supported the supercharger kit for the L61 Ecotecs. That seems like a horrible shame. Do you guys have any inside info from GMPP as to their plans for future product releases?

GMPP Info

As we have updated tunersource.com we are planning on adding the Saturn ION to the accessory portfolio line-up in the near future. Our planning process for the stage kits did not accommodate a stage 4 kit. Due to the lifecycle of the LSJ engine, stage 3 will represent the final evolution of the stage kits.

We appreciate the feedback and enthusiasm for a supercharge kit on the L61. Our emphasis has been with the stage kits on the LSJ engine due to the consumer who is more performance minded. GMPP will continue to monitor suggestions like yours to ensure that our consumers are offered exciting products into the future.

Posted by Dillon at April 16, 2007 09:44
I see alot of talk about eh lsj and the l61 but what of the le5? Is it not of any interest. I would love to see a supercharger kit available for the 2.4L.

Can you please provide me with some info

Supercharger for the LE5?

The LE5 is a great ECOtec engine, too! But, you are correct that GM does not offer a supercharger kit for it (likewise, we do not offer a supercharger kit for the Cobalt/ION L61). There are a lot of things that must be taken into consideration when GM Performance Parts decides what parts it will develop. Costs, volume, government regulations, manpower, complexity, and warranty validation are just some of those considerations. When we do not offer a performance upgrade for a particular engine, it doesn't mean that we lack interest in it. It just means that the business equation didn't work out in favor of it.

Ion

I'd like to see more on Ion mods that are not for a Redline. I have an '06 with a 2.2 and would love some good ideas and options. Things are very limited now.
