NHRA O'Reilly Recap: Pro FWD shaping up as a battle of ECOtec-powered Chevy Cobalts

The O’Reilly NHRA Fall Nationals at Texas Motorplex was the second Powerade event for the Sport Compact Pro FWD class and the second Powerade event win for Gardella Racing.

Gary Gardella took the semi-final win over fellow Chevy-driver Jason Hunt with a razor-thin hole-shot.

Gardella’s 7.239-second run got him to the stripe before Hunt’s 7.237 second pass. Then, I blinked, squinted, and rubbed my eyes . . . the timing board displayed a speed of 209.59 mph for Gary Gardella. read more...

NOPI Nationals GM Awards 2007

by Andy Williamson Filed Under:

For the past couple of years, we have worked to highlight some GM cars and trucks in the GM Owners Area at the NOPI Nationals Super Show.

This year was great, as there were a ton of amazing cars to choose from, and the owners made it all worth it!

We had a great time talking to owners about their cars and what they have done to them, and what their plans are for the future. At the end of the day, they are the reason we do what we do, and we take this time to say thank you for your support! read more...

Woohoo! U.S. Nationals at O’Reiley Raceway Park!

The NHRA Sport Compact ProFWD class was privileged to be invited to this, the biggest drag race event of the year. It was a long event, stretched out over three days instead of our usual two, but well worth the extra time. Pro FWD put up an impressive qualifying lineup with the top three ECOtec-powered Chevy Cobalts running 7.15 seconds (Gardella), 7.17 seconds (Ladwig), and 7.19 seconds (Hunt).

Three ProFWD cars in the “‘teens!” What an excellent representation of Sport Compact Drag Racing.

With the three Chevy drivers all looking to back up their qualifying time for a new national record, the heat was on, literally. read more...

Hot Import Nights LA: GM Tuner Tour Madness

Hot Import Nights Los Angeles turned out to be a great event.

There were wall-to-wall people throughout the whole night. The GM Tuner Tour had lots of traffic through the booth, with people picking up all kinds of cool giveaways and taking pictures of the awesome cars that we had in the booth.

We were able to show off some fan favorites and even a brand-new car. We had the Mark Arcenal Fat Lace Pontiac Solstice, the Red Bull Drift Pontiac Solstice, Neil Tjin’s Cobalt SS … and Jason Whitfield brought out a brand-new Chevy Time Attack car for display. People were extremely excited to see that car, which is something brand new to the market. read more...
