The first event of the season is always exciting. And a little nerve racking. Marty Ladwig brought out his brand-new, never-been-run Chevy Cobalt Pro Outlaw FWD car.\nThis weekend, both he and Jason Hunt are running a new F.A.S.T. XFI controller, wiring harness, and Enginuity shift controller. We started on Marty's car Friday evening and struggled to get it to run right.

That would be a very big YES!!! GM loves to race! That has been very evident in the past few years with their involvement in Sport Compact drag racing. This year is going to be an exciting year for GM Racing and their star-powered teams.\nWith the continued refinement and evolution of ECOtec horsepower and the aerodynamic and user-friendly sophistication of the race-prepared Cobalt, Chevrolet looks to build on its already impressive sport-compact legacy.</description> <dc:publisher>No publisher</dc:publisher> <dc:creator>andyw</dc:creator> <dc:rights></dc:rights> <dc:subject>GM Tuner Tour</dc:subject> <dc:subject>Drag Racing</dc:subject> <dc:date>2007-04-13T18:47:30Z</dc:date> <dc:type>Weblog Entry</dc:type> </item>

It approached 100 degrees in Phoenix, a shock to those of us who flew out of snowy conditions in the Midwest and Northeast.
\n
In fact, Don Nase Jr., driver of the ECOtec-powered dragster, almost didn't make it at all. He faced canceled flights and a sleepless night spent at JFK

airport just to make it to Firebird Raceway in time for the final qualifying round on Saturday. He left the event a winner, so hopefully that made up for the struggles in getting there.</description> <dc:publisher>No publisher</dc:publisher> <dc:creator>carmens</dc:creator> <dc:rights></dc:rights> <dc:subject>Drag Racing</dc:subject> <dc:date>2007-04-05T17:23:14Z</dc:date> <dc:type>Weblog Entry</dc:type> </item>

In the following Q &amp; A, Smith discusses the upcoming season and what to expect from the GM Racing Sport-Compact program in 2007.

The CSI team, with drivers Jason Hunt in Pro FWD and Brian Ballard in Quick16, really came through for Chevrolet and ECOtec. They were focused and determined, knowing that they were fighting for an important head start in the championship points race. They got it, well deserved.
